This title is a typical academic style book cover. As there are usually a number of different editions, the cover is kept quite simple and can be changed quite easily. Looking at the edition that comes after this one, it is clear to see that not much has been amended in terms of cover design features. The text is in the same place, but has been changed to a serif font, and the background image has changed to introduce a blue colour scheme.

Overall it seems like quite a basic design with not much detail. However, when we look into it, the colours and shapes used may reflect meaning. This title uses a purple colour scheme which is quite fitting to the topic of law as purple signifies ambition, luxury and wealth. The use of circles indicates community and protection which is also quite reflective of the topic at hand.

The white font is contrasting to the dark background and the sans serif makes it a bold title. As the title is in a more bold typeface, and the subtitle and author names lesser so, it creates a hierachy within the text. It is also an interesting choice to align the text to the right and leave so much space below.

The blurb is extremely text heavy, and the only part that is easily accessible is the quote in bold. It seems to have the same level of information as an AI sheet would have which, I feel, is a bit overwhelming for a reader. However, there could be a number of different competing titles on this topic so it could be important to include this information.

The interior text is all black and white with no text boxes, and is only broken up by subtitles. This is different from many academic books that separate text to make it more manageable as a reference book. Due to the heavy nature of the information though, this may not be the purpose of the book.
